Jordan customs wins Emirates Energy Award 2017

  • In one significant event organized under the patronage of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy on 24th October, 2017, Jordan customs was awarded the Emirates Energy 2017 for Energy Efficiency- public Sector category.
    The Emirates Energy Award (EEA), which has been awarded every two years since 2012, is regional prize intended to encourage the rationalized use of energy and resources and highlight the efforts of the public and private sectors across the region in energy efficiency, energy projects, and education and research in the energy sector.
    The Award was presented to Jordan Customs in recognition to its achievements in the field of Energy Efficiency and renewable Energy, as the Department has been endeavoring to take the lead at the national level in the field of innovation and development. Thus, adopting and developing innovative solutions to clean energy falls within the frameworks of the projects and initiatives implemented successfully by Jordan Customs for Alternative Energy.

    The significant increase in the demand for energy consumption and its subsequent impact on the environment and economy in the region necessitated effective measures to improve energy efficiency and to diversify the energy mix in the region for sustainable growth.
